Earth Day Podcast

This is a reader's theater for Earth Day. I did it with two reading groups from my class.  We use reader's theaters to work on fluency and expression.  This one also relates to our science curriculum as it pertains to Earth Day.  It was too long for Audioboo so I had to download Audacity and figure that out.  I think I would like to take if further for the kids, maybe putting it into VoiceThread or Animoto so we can add images and then post it on our class blog.  If anyone had any other ideas I would appreciate them.

  1. I love that you were able to figure out using audacity and also used box to upload your file to embed to your blog. Nicely done. As we know, it may take a little extra figuring out time, but now you know and the next time it might be easier. If you have mac computers, it is always easy to record a podcast on garageband, which is now set up for podcasting and send to iTunes. Also a site called pod-o-matic is great for uploading as well. Yes, audioboo is a max at 5 minutes. You could always use 2 boo's as well! I love hearing the kids voices. So cute and real world learning happening to share with others. If there is a link for a website to your classroom, parents/grandparents would love to listen in to see what's going on at school!

  2. Great project to use with your reading group! Their reading was authentic for a real publication. Kim mentioned Garage Band, which I tried, but missed the part about sending it to iTunes (which is probably a good thing).
